Our first night, we stayed in a 2-bedroom lodge at Blarney Golf Resort. It was really cool! We basically had a nice, big house to ourselves for cheaper than two hotel rooms would have been. We kicked off the morning at
Blarney Castle so we could all kiss the
Blarney Stone.

We crossed this bridge once we got there. |

This is where the Jehovah's Witnesses met.
(That made some of the other tourists laugh, anyway.) |

The Blarney Stone enjoyed it so much, it kissed back. |

Don't worry, this is not a cryptic way of announcing a move to Texas. |

Why are there not more benches like this? Brilliant! |

If you're over 6 feet, bring a hard hat when visiting the UK. |
We followed the castle with a brief visit to the city of Cork. Hard to believe it's the second largest city in the country because it still has a relaxed, suburban feel to it. Then it was back to the country roads to explore for ruins. We finished the night with a whirlwind tour through the eastern half of the
Ring of Kerry. Amazing landscapes ensued.

I loved this place except for the jagged rock that stabbed the top of my head. |

This castle in Macroom was gated off, but we admired from the outside. |

For some reason, this scene reminds me a bit of this cartoon. |

We found it very common to see sheep all along (or on) the road. |
What fun experiences and memories you will have for the rest of your lives. You also are lucky to have so much family visit.
